Centrodestra diviso e gli strascichi del flop di Capitale della Cultura: Agrigento al voto con 4 candidati sindaco e lotte intestine
Tra incontri, annunci e smentite il centrodestra non ha trovato la quadra e così corre con due diversi candidati sindaco alle elezioni comunali di Agrigento. È stato impossibile raggiungere un accordo su un nome unitario. Più difficile di rintracciare i tombini con il metal detector, come sono stati costretti a fare, lo scorso anno, gli operai per rimediare al danno causato dall’asfalto steso in fretta e in furia sulle strade agrigentine per accogliere il presidente Sergio Mattarella in occasione dell’inaugurazione di Agrigento Capitale della Cultura 2025. Il flop della prima Capitale del governo di Giorgia Meloni – tra gaffe, continui intoppi organizzativi e bocciatura della Corte dei conti sull’utilizzo dei circa sei milioni di euro di fondi – fa inevitabilmente da sfondo a questa tornata elettorale. Così domenica 25 e lunedì 26 maggio, i due candidati del centrodestra se la vedranno con uno del campo progressista e un civico. L’attuale sindaco Francesco Miccichè è stato sempre restio ad ammettere il fallimento dell’evento che avrebbe dovuto rilanciare la città, ridimensionando le critiche come “cattiverie” e invitando i cittadini “a lavare i panni sporchi in casa”. Strategia poco riuscita. È lui, infatti, l’agnello sacrificale del fiasco Capitale della Cultura: per Miccichè niente ricandidatura. I suoi sponsor politici, dopo lunghe meditazioni, hanno puntato tutto – al fotofinish – sull’avvocato Dino Alonge. Dietro di lui c’è il tridente che ha sostenuto la sindacatura di Miccichè: Popolari e autonomisti del deputato regionale ed ex assessore alla Regione Roberto di Mauro, Fratelli d’Italia guidato dal parlamentare nazionale Lillo Pisano e Forza Italia con il deputato regionale Riccardo Gallo (oltre all’Udc e una lista civica degli azzurri). Per due di questi big locali, però, la campagna elettorale non è vissuta con estrema serenità: Di Mauro (deus ex machina politico del sindaco uscente) è indagato nell’inchiesta della Procura di Agrigento su un giro di tangenti nelle pubbliche forniture, compresi i lavori per la nuova rete idrica della città. Pisano, amico di lunga data di Giorgia Meloni, è invece sotto inchiesta per truffa e peculato. Un’indagine – sull’uso di fondi regionali e comunali destinati a eventi culturali – emersa a fine marzo, poche settimane dopo il rientro del parlamentare in Fdi: il partito di Meloni, infatti, lo aveva sospeso alla vigilia del voto delle Politiche per alcuni suoi vecchi post sui social in cui definiva Adolf Hitler “un grande statista”, pioggia di polemiche che lo stesso Pisano ha provato poco dopo a minimizzare. In questo contesto il candidato Alonge affronta la sua campagna elettorale potendo contare sul rilevante peso elettorale dei suoi sponsor politici, ma dovendo fare i conti con la loro ingombrante presenza, i rischi connessi con l’immagine di una candidatura in continuità con la vecchia amministrazione e l’incubo del voto disgiunto. Chi invece cerca di sfruttare il boomerang Capitale della Cultura è il più giovane dei candidati: l’ex deputato nazionale, eletto con il Movimento 5 stelle, Michele Sodano che prova così a conquistare un feudo del centrodestra. Su di lui si è riunito il fronte progressista con il Pd che ha rispolverato il simbolo tenuto chiuso nel cassetto alle ultime comunali e la Casa riformista dei renziani. Non ci sarà invece la lista del M5s: da Roma è arrivato il no all’utilizzo del simbolo nella scheda elettorale, provocando scene di panico tra i candidati al consiglio comunale che avevano già preparato i facsimile con il logo del Movimento. Sodano, infatti, è stato espulso nel 2021 dal M5s per non aver detto “sì” al governo Draghi e dopo non ha lesinato critiche al leader Giuseppe Conte. Il simbolo del Movimento 5 stelle però compare nel suo programma elettorale e i candidati M5s hanno trovato posto in altre liste a suo sostegno. L’ex parlamentare è oggi espressione del movimento fondato dal deputato regionale ed ex Iena Ismaele La Vardera. Quest’ultimo è molto presente in questa campagna elettorale trattandosi del primo vero banco di prova del suo partito denominato ControCorrente. La competizione elettorale in una città dove di corrente non c’è neppure l’acqua – con i cittadini ormai rassegnati ai lunghi turni di distribuzione idrica con lo spettro, come ogni anno, della siccità in estate – richiama anche l’attenzione di esponenti politici di altre parti della Sicilia. È il caso del sindaco di Taormina Cateno De Luca. In campo per fare da contraltare al figliol prodigo La Vardera, che proprio grazie al suo partito Sud chiama Nord ha ottenuto l’elezione all’Assemblea regionale siciliana, prima del divorzio e della creazione del suo nuovo movimento. De Luca è vicesindaco designato dell’altro candidato del centrodestra, l’ex finiano oggi leghista, Luigi Gentile. Per sostenerlo “Scateno” ha presentato anche una lista, in tandem con Noi Moderati, che però – nonostante le forze doppie – è l’unica (oltre a una civica) a non avere espresso il numero massimo di aspiranti consiglieri (24). E, nei suoi comizi, non risparmia attacchi “all’altro” centrodestra. Gentile – ex deputato regionale e già assessore in Sicilia alle Infrastrutture, Lavori pubblici e alla Formazione – è sostenuto anche dalla Lega e dalla Democrazia cristiana. Dc che in questa tornata elettorale è orfana del suo fondatore, l’ex governatore Totò Cuffaro finito a dicembre ai domiciliari per corruzione. Dopo avere scontato 4 anni e 11 mesi nel carcere di Rebibbia per una condanna a 7 anni per favoreggiamento alla mafia, Totò Vasa Vasa ha chiesto e ottenuto di patteggiare tre anni (ma senza carcere) nell’ambito della nuova inchiesta su appalti e nomine nella sanità. Da venerdì è tornato in libertà ma non potrà frequentare soggetti che rivestono cariche politiche, come previsto nelle prescrizioni accessorie della sentenza di patteggiamento. La sua assenza in campagna elettorale potrebbe avere delle conseguenze per un partito che in città ha già registrato una diaspora dal gruppo consiliare. Per far sentire meno la lontananza del fondatore, a presentare la lista in Comune era comunque andato il genero: quel Marco Zambuto già sindaco della Città dei Templi eletto nel 2007 con il motto “il coraggio di cambiare” (e, in effetti, di partiti ne ha cambiati tanti). Chiude il poker di candidati l’unico civico che sta basando la sua campagna proprio contestando la presenza dei partiti dietro gli altri candidati. È Giuseppe Di Rosa, ex vicepresidente del Consiglio comunale, ex coordinatore provinciale di “Noi con Salvini” e già candidato sindaco (senza successo) nel 2015. In passato aveva annunciato il ritiro dalla politica, salvo poi ripensarci (Renzi docet) e oggi è nuovamente in corsa con il sostegno di due liste. Da sponsor dell’allora candidato Francesco Miccichè, è diventato poco dopo uno dei principali contestatori. Di Rosa è stato anche protagonista di una scena molto teatrale in questa competizione elettorale. È accaduto proprio sul palco del Pirandello quando, durante un confronto pubblico, ha distribuito dei contenitori per le urine sfidando gli altri candidati a sottoporsi al test antidroga. Non è mancato, però, il colpo di scena con due di loro (Sodano e Alonge) che – giocando d’anticipo – hanno tirato fuori dalle tasche le buste con gli esiti negativi delle analisi già effettuate. Così, con 327 candidati in corsa per i 24 posti da consigliere comunale e con quattro personaggi in cerca di fascia tricolore, saranno gli elettori agrigentini tra pochi giorni a provare a mettere ordine al Caos. Lo stesso nome della zona dove sorge la casa natale del premio Nobel agrigentino Luigi Pirandello: quella “contrata Caos” comparsa sui cartelli stradali sgrammaticati alla vigilia dell’anno di Capitale della Cultura, insieme alla dicitura “Valle di Templi”. Il primo di una lunga serie di scivoloni che la non più Capitale ha adesso voglia di dimenticare. Intanto i genitori chiedono misure urgenti per affrontare un tema di salute pubblica, con la class action contro Meta e TikTok aperta il 14 maggio. Ma solo un mese prima l’esecutivo aveva garantito il suo intervento con un giro di vite imminente, a furor di popolo sull’onda dei fatti di Trescore. Ovvero la prof accoltellata a scuola da uno studente 13enne, descritto dalla vittima come “confuso, trascinato e indottrinato dai social”. Il ddl congelato, Floridia (M5s): “Governo fonda il suo consenso sugli algoritmi social e non vuole inimicarsi le piattaforme” Anche il ministro Giuseppe Valditara aveva additato le piattaforme: “Episodi di violenza come quello di Bergamo scontano l’influenza negativa dei social, lo dimostrano diversi studi internazionali”. Dunque il ministro aveva esortato ad “accelerare” sul divieto per i minori. Peccato che il disegno di legge n. 1136, firmato dalla meloniana Lavinia Mennuni, giacesse in Commissione al Senato dal 21 ottobre 2025, inspiegabilmente congelato dal governo per quasi sei mesi. Valditara aveva giustificato lo stop citando “motivi tecnici legati alla riservatezza”, incassando subito la smentita del Garante della privacy: con il comunicato del 30 marzo l’Autorità sottolineava di essere stata “coinvolta dal governo” “nella risoluzione delle criticità”; infatti il testo giunto in Commissione “ha recepito le indicazioni formulate”. Dunque il ddl si è impantanato “per ragioni che non risultano note al Garante”. Il Partito democratico e il Movimento 5 stelle invece hanno le idee chiare: Meloni avrebbe elargito un dono per Donald Trump e Big Tech, mettendo in freezer la legge firmata anche da Fratelli d’Italia e sostenuta dalle opposizioni. Alla faccia del governo sovranista al servizio delle famiglie. Non sarebbe il primo “beau geste” verso la Casa Bianca: la premier si era già espressa contro la web tax durante il negoziato sui dazi tra l’Europa e Trump. “Il governo sostiene il suo consenso anche grazie alle scelte algoritmiche di alcuni social, inoltre assecondare i colossi digitali vicini al presidente Usa rientra nelle metriche della Meloni”, dice la pentastellata Barbara Floridia a ilfattoquotidiano.it. Concludendo: “Ecco perché il governo non ha alcun interesse a promuovere provvedimenti per la tutela dei cittadini rispetto alle piattaforme”. Ma le associazioni dei genitori hanno fretta: “Non è solo un tema tecnologico, ma di salute pubblica per la tutela dei minori, i rischi per la dipendenza social vanno affrontati subito”, ammonisce il direttore del Moige Antonio Affinita, interpellato da ilfattoquotidiano.it. Il bluff del testo del governo: si torna in Parlamento Per 166 giorni il ddl 1136 è rimasto parcheggiato. Tornando in auge il 6 aprile con l’inserimento in calendario dell’ottava commissione di palazzo Madama: ma era solo un bluff, quel giorno nessuna discussione sul divieto social. Anche perché il governo aveva già annunciato una proposta scritta di suo pugno. Ad aprile Corriere della Sera e Messaggero avevano anticipano le bozze del nuovo testo di palazzo Chigi, con una spiacevole sorpresa per i genitori: multe agli adulti che non vigilano sui pargoli con il parental control. “Inaccettabile”, per le associazioni. Mentre il Movimento genitori italiani (Moige) dubitava dell’esistenza delle bozze, con il timore che il governo volesse allungare i tempi per far finire la legislatura senza approvare la legge. Dubbio confermato dal Fratello d’Italia Matteo Gelmetti, firmatario del ddl 1136 insieme a 21 senatori FdI: “Un nuovo testo del governo per vietare i social ai minori? Quasi impossibile da approvare prima delle urne nel 2027”, ammoniva il meloniano. Perché occorre il via libera dell’Europa, già incassato dal testo in Commissione. Ma il governo aveva tirato dritto, senza neppure escludere il decreto legge per correre spediti dopo i fatti di Trescore. Infine l’ultima retromarcia venerdì 15 maggio, consegnata in serata all’agenzia Ansa: “alla luce dell’avanzato stato dell’iter parlamentare, del positivo coinvolgimento dei gruppi di maggioranza e di opposizione e delle interlocuzioni già intercorse con le Istituzioni europee, il Governo conferma l’intenzione, già comunicata agli interessati, di non presentare un proprio disegno di legge sul tema e di lasciare al Parlamento l’iniziativa normativa”. Anche il 21 ottobre 2025 il ddl 1136 era pronto per l’approvazione, sostenuto dalle opposizioni e bollinato dall’Europa. Cosa è cambiato da allora? Nulla, tranne la posizione del governo, per 3 volte: ha incoraggiato il Parlamento sul divieto social con la proposta firmata Fdi, poi l’ha congelata, dopo ha annunciato il testo del governo, infine è tornato alla casella di partenza con il semaforo verde per il Parlamento. Dove le proposte di legge si sono moltiplicate, con l’aggiunta di tre testi firmati Partito democratico, Lega e Noi Moderati. Si ripartirà, presumibilmente, dal ddl in Commissione. La Russa e le piattaforme guardano a Bruxelles Ma più che a Roma guarda a Bruxelles il presidente del Senato Ignazio la Russa, “totalmente d’accordo” con l’idea di “una proposta comune a livello europeo”. Lo ha dichiarato ad un convegno in Senato il 14 maggio, il giorno dell’apertura della class action milanese contro Meta e TikTok. Rappresentanti del colosso di Mark Zuckerberg ascoltavano la seconda carica dello Stato, mentre a Milano si celebrava la prima udienza del processo. Anche le piattaforme social preferiscono l’Europa. Meta e TikTok hanno contestato la giurisdizione nazionale appellandosi alle leggi del Vecchio Continente. Meta sembra pronta a negoziare con Bruxelles. Lo ha sottolineato la responsabile della sicurezza Antigone Davis in un’intervista a Repubblica, sempre il 14 maggio. Citando il caso australiano, con la prima legge al mondo su divieto di accesso ai social per i minori di 15 anni, la manager ha auspicato dialogo senza bracci di ferro: “Esiste un punto in cui la conversazione tra industria e politica rischia di non essere più razionale. Quando l’urgenza di agire supera il dialogo costruttivo, diventa difficile implementare soluzioni davvero efficaci. Per questo sono qui in Europa: voglio anticipare quel momento, condividendo un percorso costruttivo con i decisori politici prima che il dialogo si interrompa”. Meta in Europa rischia una maximulta fino a 60 miliardi di euro, per 5 indagini avviate dalla Commissione von der Leyen. Un buon motivo per sedersi al tavolo.
